A Patriotic Sentiment & a Daredevil Attitude…

In 1916, a group of students from Yale University, driven by a patriotic sentiment and a daredevil
attitude, formed their own ”Air Force” to get in the air for the Allied powers.
Using their well connected families’ resources, these Bulldogs purchased their own planes and hired flight instructors. These Elis were from well known American families: Taft, Morgan, Roosevelt, Harriman, and Baruch. We know they loved their early biplanes, the adventure and those hair raising barrel rolls.

To honour these adventurers of New Haven, we went back to our own history books and studied the early aviator’s timepieces. With the Stauer Flyboy 1916 the pilot has three tachymeters and a movable bezel
to measure speed and ascent. The chronograph function allows you to measure elapsed time and stop on a dime. The interior complications measure elapsed minutes and hours as well as display a
military 24 hour clock. So if your ETA is 1700hrs, you’ll be ready to yell “contact” from your cockpit. If you are in a seaplane, we are ready for that too since the
Flyboy 1916 is water resistant to 10 atms.
